amb 2         Southern Trinity Area Rescue (STAR), a non-profit volunteer 911 ambulance, which serves Southern Trinity County and Eastern Humboldt County along the Highway 36 corridor from Larabee Valley to South Fork Mountain, out to Ruth lake, south to Zenia and Yolla Bully Mountains, has a challenging project.

Over time our ambulances become worn out from traveling over the rugged rural roads and need more and more maintenance.  About every ten years or so they reach the point of needing to be replaced.  We currently have two 911 ambulances in service, one which is almost 9 years old and one which is over ten years old, we have reached the point at which to ensure safe and consistent Emergency Medical response we need to replace the oldest ambulance.  We are asking for everyone’s help in reaching this goal.

Ambulances are very expensive and our small group of volunteers have been working very hard just to raise money for essential emergency supplies and uniforms all while responding to medical emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  During these difficult economic times grant funding is harder and harder to come by and although we are actively pursuing many grants we still need you help!

STAR has served both Humboldt and Trinity Counties for over 35 years. Highway 36 and the Ruth Lake recreation area are famous for needing reliable and efficient Emergency Services which we are proud to provide.

As we continue to raise funds for our new ambulance please help us reach our goal of continued emergency service in this remote area of California./home3/sgeddes/public_html/fundhumboldt.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/STAR-pic-brooke-and-kids.jpg
